They don't talk to each other without a hub. That's not a flaw in the products; it's a feature of the category. You just have to choose one path.

The unexpected question is: what protocol is your building already using? If your IT team has standardized on a professional lighting control system, the consumer Smart+ family might not be the right fit. And that's okay. Buy the product that matches the infrastructure you already have, not the one with the nicer marketing page.

Take it from someone who has returned a box of misordered Zigbee plugs: confirm Zigbee in the product title before you hit order. If it says Zigbee Stikkontakt, it means Zigbee socket in Norwegian. Trust me on this one.
